When I started watching Merlin I was all excited to see the fandom, because I would always see fics about it everywhere. I was really surprised when I saw that people didn't like them (well, people seem to like Morgana more than they do Merlin, it's mostly Gwen). Even as someone who totally loves and ships Merlin and Arthur, I find it insane how much people can dislike them.
I LOVED the Awkward awesome of Gwen from season one, and I loved Morgana, even though I spent the third season yelling at her. I've only seen a few people with legitimate complaints about the characters. It's usually something dumb, like they don't want Gwen to be black or she's "not pretty enough" for Arthur or equally idiotic things.
