Because some people don't have lj accounts, and don't want to get them? Plus there are a few cases of shit following them back the journal [not often that I know of]...and some of just are too lazy to care about logging in for the what? 10-15 minutes it takes to read the secrets/comments we care about.

Yeah, me too, OP. I tell the truth, I don't troll. I go anon w/opinions that might be or are controversial b/c I don't want to deal with the (possible) resulting wank from them. A very few times I've engaged on them but mostly I just state my opinion and run for the hills/ignore/don't read the responses. I'm probably missing out on people who even agree w/me but I'm not mentally in a place where that would be good for me to engage w/negative fallout. I've been depressed w/no recourse to help and bullied enough in my life over minor shit irl.

i call coward. if you actually had opinions that mattered to you, you'd be able to defend them. you'd want to defend them. "survival" has nothing to do with it if you actually believe in something. the only reason you don't voice your opinions in real life is because you're afraid of them.
