I don't think she'd be disappointed in you, I think she'd go and help you out and boost your confidence and be an awesome friend and role model.

This. Scully would encourage you, OP, and probably tell you that she's had times when she felt like she didn't measure up, too. I think it would be helpful if you looked at real people in your chosen field and see what they've had to go to to get to where they are now, and how many of them have had setbacks and times when they had to turn their lives around from a low point. Scully is great inspiration, but trying to compare yourself to a fictional character--when you're never sure how much of the mundane, annoying, realistic details of their life have been glossed over for story reasons or brevity's sake--is always going to leave you feeling wanting.
