For a moment I thought she was a new One Piece character (then I looked at her waist and realised she wasn't). Am I the only one who thinks she looks kinda like an Oda-female?

The character designs of Fairy Tail are very much like One Piece across the board, not just this one character. The artist on it worked on One Piece for a while, so it might be why - picked up the style. Luckily, it wasn't the ONLY awesome thing about One Piece that Fairy Tail picked up. If you're a fan of the former, you'd probably at least like the latter. I like to affectionately call it "One Piece Light."
