1) I did not say I would be leading the revolt, getting the ball rolling is not the same thing. 2) If you can't see the blatant British colonial sentiment (all the children are white, English school children of upper-lower or middle class and the (human) bad guys just so happen to be a barbaric race of dark-skinned interlopers decended from Travellers who have a Pagan system of worship opposed to the not-so-subtley-Christian system of Aslan/his father over the sea and all the other subtext that the books contain) then I don't think you read the books at all. 3) The native Narnians didn't need the children in the books when something bad happened- they needed leadership, a central system of government, council, anything but the disconnected every-group-for-themselves mentality. It was only for the sake of plot that the leadership and subsequent government came from school kids. Why didn't a band of talking mice, like Reepicheep, sneak into the White Witch's bedroom (she has to sleep and don't tell me that they wouldn't be able to avoid the wolves by carving an opening in the freaking ice that makes up the entire ceiling), stab her eyes out and end the whole thing there and then? Because the books had a rather out-dated agenda of white, colonial supremacy and it's a kids book so everything's done on a battlefield instead of through more sensible, underhanded means.

And finally I do NOT think that their religion and culture are stupid but the fact that the separate groups never work together because they insist on having monarchs with very short shelf lives govern them IS stupid. Everything fell apart after the Pevensies left Narnia, they waited around for their kings and queens to come back instead of holding elections, setting up a council, etc. If you get conquered, especially more than once then you have to look for the reason why. The reason is they expect someone else to save them.

Too bad he wasn't alive during the years of the White Witch, with the dilated timeline. Although he might well have been statued for his insubordination. Hmm.

If you get conquered, especially more than once then you have to look for the reason why. The reason is they expect someone else to save them.

Unless you don't have natural borders, but as The Horse's Boy proves, Narnia has them. But exactly- the Talking Animals have helpless victim mentality, which Aslan set up in the first place by kinging a random cabbie at the very beginning just because he was human.

I need an AU fic of this right the hell NAOW. *___* Pity there's too much time between Aslan unfreezing people and Caspian the 10th so unless Reepicheep was born in another time then... oh, reincarnation fic. Problem solved. :D
