(Anonymous) 2012-03-16 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)I absolutely don't care about this movie. In fact, I don't care much for this series at all. People tripping over themselves to talk about how awesome it is have turned me off. Now, I've read both the Twilight saga and The Hunger Games trilogy, so I'm aware that The Hunger Games doesn't have quite as many issues as Twilight has. But it has issues, and a lot of people seem to be completely oblivious to that. I don't diss THG for the sake of dissing it, but hearing people talk about how Absolutely Awesome!(TM) it is has seriously started grating on my nerves, and now I instinctively focus on the issues in THG that so many other people seem to not see.
If you want to talk about THG, you should feel free to. But by the same token, other people are free to dislike it or be unimpressed by it, too. There's not much you can do about it.
