I'm sad to hear that (though, to be fair jackass is not mutually exclusive to racist). That's a little far removed to change my mind but you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

I'm not blindingly loyal to the man (despite what my posts may seem). I've never met him and I probably never will but I will give the benefit if the doubt until I have first hand experience or legal proof otherwise.

I'm going to call bullshit , yet still agree we should stop pretending like we know these celebrities personally through interviews and what-not, and, you know, just appreciating the job they do onscreen - or not, as the role may dictate. My only caveat is, unless they're proven guilty of violent crimes. Roman Polanski can kiss my ass for the rest of his hopefully shortened life.

I met him when he was making The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (my dad was a crew member) and he couldn't have been nicer. I had a huge crush on him from The Office and whenever he was around I was so flustered I could barely look him in the eye. But he always went out of his way to come over and say hello to me and make me feel comfortable.

I have a friend who met him, and she said he actually stopped a conversation he was having on the phone to talk to her.

TBH your friends sounds like a bit of a dick for trying to talk to someone who's on the phone. Although I admit I don't know the circumstances, she may well have had a good reason for it, or he could have gone up to her for some reason or something.

She didn't try to talk to him. She just opened a door and was shocked to see him. He noticed and ended his conversation.

I walked past him in the supermarket last year, but figured nobody likes to be bothered when they're shopping, so I just kind of awkwardly averted my eyes and walked quickly away...

Yes, the clip was Hard Gay. And it was being presented on a panel show that mocks television (You Have Been Watching). Martin's exact comment was not, "In what way is that okay?" it was, "What the fuck is that? What is that?".

Oh god Hard Gay? As in the straight guy who pretends to be gay(thus creepy in his eyes) and makes his entire country look ridiculous? yeahhh, many people have problems with that and it's not because he's "flamboyant."
