There are a lot of ways you can encourage her between seasons!

1) If you are a con going type, trying working with her on a costume that needs make-up. Design a few for your next conventions.

2) Plan on something for Halloween! Yes, it's months away at this point, but that means you can work on a killer outfit

3) If there is a local theater company or college nearby that has a theater department, get her to try to work the make-up department for them. Take classes if that will get her to join the theater department.

My mom loved to sew. She could work without a pattern and was amazing. She like science fiction and fantasy and read a lot of my books and would watch movies & shows with me. We'd talk about costumes and she designed a few that would have won the costume contests But they never got done because when I had time, no money. when I had the money, no time before a con!

Keep at it. I'm sure your mom would make a great make-up artist.

I agree with all these suggestions, especially a community theater company or college theater. Both places are always looking for help!
