I pictured Cinna with much darker skin. And didn't the books describe him as having very natural looks as opposed to the rest of the Capital's fashion? I don't know, I actually pictured him with rather dark skin and plain close-cropped black hair. I generally dislike Lenny Kravitz but he's actually the only casting choice that comes close to my mental image of the character.

Judging by everyone's reaction, I feel kind of bad picturing Cinna as white. I mean, I know Katniss has olive skin (still miffed about that casting, movie), but he's mentioned to have green eyes and that's not typical of darker skin, is it?

I usually wouldn't give it a second thought, but since he was my favorite and I just so happen to have short brown hair and green eyes, I'm half-cosplaying him for the release. < : /

I personally think they did a great job with Lenny. He's got a very "neutral" look compared to the capitol people, but he's got presence and style seeping through in the way he moves and talks.

I always imagined Cinna as having fairly dark skin. It was the mention of the gold eyeliner--I think gold looks great on dark skin, but tacky on light skin. So I just naturally assumed he was darker.

I get it. I didn't read the books until after Kravitz was cast so I was totally picturing him, but it DID say Cinna looked way more natural and less high-maintenance than the rest of the Capitol, so as much as I like Mister Jay I think he's probably a bit too stylized. Still :D

haha! I was picturing someone while I was reading but didn't really stop to figure out who and seeing this just made me realize that it had been Jay all along. I still think that Lenny Kravitz can do a decent job (from the clips I've seen him it), but yeah, Jay suits him more.

I think I would have preferred that really, if only because I'm not familiar with the actor. I saw the film tonight, and Kravitz was good, but I kept going "Hey, that's Lenny Kravitz". But he's also not in it a huge amount, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that had he had more screen time I would have been more immersed.
