Joffrey trying to be hero? Sorry, I can't see that, no matter how much I try. He's just a cruel little shit who gets his jollies from power and bullying but cries like a baby whenever the situation gets serious for him. He's like Draco Malfoy 2.0. Only much worse because he actually has the power.

Joffrey is what Draco Malfoy would've been if Draco had no conscience, no impulse control, and unlimited power.

And that's what I meant by saying he's "Draco Malfoy 2.0, only much worse." Meaning that he has a lot of similarities with Draco (bullying, hunger for power, cowardliness + the blond hair, lol) but they are updated to a much worse level. Guess I should have worded it better. Ah, whatever. I don't really give a shit.

How many people did Joffrey personally kill, though? Usually he ordered others to do it for him. I think it's plausible to argue that Joffrey is what Draco could have been, someday, if he'd had a lot more unfettered power and no one willing to keep him in line. (Maybe if Draco had grown up in the live-by-the-sword society of Westeros, as well...) Though that said, I think Draco was just a dumbass bully, whereas (as others have noted repeatedly) Joffrey is just flat-out a psychopath. Joff bullies and is a coward, as well, but he also seems to get off on tormenting people at a level that surpasses Draco.

Thank you! The others seem to have missed the part where I said Joffrey is much worse. He totally reminds me of Draco (they like to bully, they like power but when things get serious they weep like little babies + they look the same) but that doesn't mean I meant they are the same person.

But Draco wouldn't have been that because when he actually tried to kill Dumbledore--thinking it was a good thing to do and knowing his family was threatened--he still didn't actually want to kill him. Then he spent the last time trying to avoid the torturing and killing. He wasn't brave enough to stand up against DEs or Voldemort to do it himself, but he showed he was against both those things.

Which is the opposite of Joffrey, who got the chance to kill (even if he only ordered it he stood right there while it was done) and enjoyed it.

oh, okay. your comment just came off as 'joffrey is like draco'. i guess i didn't analyze it meticulously. :)

i don't sympathize with draco, per se. he was definitely a twat. i do empathize with him, however. i can clearly see the path that led him to become what he became, and how, as he was a child, the majority of the blame didn't rest on his shoulders. definitely a coward, though. on the other hand, joffrey just baffles me, it's almost as if he's not human, with the exception that he's just so pathetic. so the comparison remains a bit odd in my mind.
