However, to address your example of a demisexual lesbian, her relationship status would have no affect on her sexual orientation, nor would it have any affect on whether or not she was a demisexual.

A demisexual lesbian is a woman who is only attracted to women that she has an emotional connection too. Her relationship status does not affect this at all. If she was not currently attracted to anyone, she would not "become" an asexual, she would just not currently be attracted to anyone.

Upon reflection, I realize you thought I might be the anon you had been replying to, which, no I am not.

That particular anon is hyper defensive and makes generalizations. I wish they'd get off my side, they're making the rest of us look like angry jackasses.

I'm finding it ironic that I'm trying to wedge this poor woman (that I see maybe twice a year) into labels that really meant nothing to me several hours ago.

I think people (as a group) are just not capable of not labeling people. I think the important part is not to place an undue importance on a label. Because if no one really cares the label is (just that you have one) then it's not going to be a big deal. Right? Does that make sense?
