It's so immature and selfish in my eyes. If it bothers the artists that much, I don't understand why the iconmakers can't just let them have it their way. It's not like not using fanart would actually make iconmakers so upset they would stop making icons. Whereas the reverse is true.

I'm glad I got positive responses to my secret, though. I was halfway afraid, given the number of well-known iconists who make no secret about their fanart policies, that I would be flamed halfway to hell.

I was tempted to go anonymous myself but eh. This topic always saddened me. I still miss a good bunch of sites that got fed up with people taking their works for whatever.
