But wasn't that sort of the point? In ASOIAF/GOT there are very few clear-cut heroes and villains. What's a terrible atrocity from one person's POV is completely justified from someone else's POV and seen as par for the course from yet another person's POV.

It's part of what makes it awesome.

Yeah, that's how I read it too. From her perspective, Mirri Maz Duur was sorta justified in what she did. ASOIAF is a story about war in many ways, and in war both sides do terrible things to each other.
