That aside, I see nothing wrong enjoying shotacon and take offense at being called "sickening". It's a kink, and while it might be a squick to you, to call someone else "sickening" is wrong.

I totally get off on shotacon but I've never had even the slightest interest in men/boys who are younger than me. I've been married to a wonderful man who is 13 years older than me and we have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. I'm fully capable of separating fantasy from reality and do not get off on real little boys sleeping with older men/women. It's the idea of losing one's innocence that I find attractive, but ONLY in fiction/as a fantasy.

Pedophilia =/= being into shotacon, and I wish people would get that through their heads.

I'm sorry you had to go through that OP I really am but it's cruel to call people who are doing no wrong "sick".

this used to really bother me as well. i'm not into shotacon but i always thought that there was a clear difference between fantasy and reality, and that if they did converge it wouldn't be for obvious reasons. i took a manga class in uni and got to read all sorts of essays about this subject, and i realized that most educated and academic individuals understand the distinction quite clearly. i don't really bother arguing about it anymore, just point people to academic journals if they're really interested in enlightening themselves (they usually aren't).

I agree completely with everything you've just said, and would like to add to the losing of one's innocence that awkward balance between childhood and puberty as being an appeal.

it's not my kink and i think it's kinda gross actually, but i know people who like that kind of roleplay (which is different from watching it i guess but not that much?) and i think it's important to know that not everybody identifies with the abuser.
