I'm really sorry, OP, that must suck. :( At the risk of sounding insensitive, though, I personally think artists/writers/whatever's personal lives should be kept separate from their work. I don't blame you for being angry with him, but even if this comes out, people are probably still going to be fans of his work and there's nothing wrong with that IMO. You should be talking to the authorities, not fandom, because this situation has nothing whatsoever to do with his comic or his fans.

Outing him out won't make you exactly look very good, either, and he can use it as mean to look like the poor victim who ended with a horrible person like you (people like that are experts on using that to their advantage). It would be more effective if you go with the law to at least force hom to do his duty with your child...

I can't with this mentality. There are genuinely talented people who are terrible, horrible human beings. People should know. It's this way of thinking that has people still shoving accolades all over Chris Brown, Roman Polanski, and assholes of their ilk. Talent does not negate the horrible things they've done. I'd rather go in aware and able to choose to support or not.

And the suggestion of talking to the authorities? You do understand how often they DON'T go after deadbeat dads or the laws in the state of residence are an utter joke? You're not only coming across as insensitive but extremely naive.

I agree. I don't know much about most celebrities' personal lives and while this is partly due to laziness and not caring, I admit that there is also some active avoidance going on because I don't want anything to spoil my enjoyment of my favorite artists and entertainers. That being said, I appreciate being informed of things like rape and abuse because I do not want to support that in any form. There are things I just can't put aside the way I could maybe a messy divorce, where it's possible nobody actually did anything wrong except get really angry after the split.
