(Anonymous) 2012-04-01 05:15 am (UTC)(link)but I think it's the direction of the films beyond the art style alone that I don't like as much. The 2D cartoons were a lot more serious, violent, life or death, dramatic... I dunno how to explain it and it sounds bad to try. But the CGI kids movies always have this goofy family friendly sense of humor that does absolutely nothing for me, and I feel like they lack the same kind of adventure the older ones had (thinking Aladdin, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Little Mermaid, etc.) but then, those were the ones I grew up on so likely I'm pretty biased. but I just cannot do Madagascar, Ice Age, etc. and I don't even love Toy Story.
go on, judge me. lol

But then I was the kind of child who always hated the "funny animal sidekick characters" in Disney movies so what do I know, maybe most people find that shit cute.
