More or so all the old comics tend to be a bit silly, but one should try to look at those with the time and customs in mind. The CCA had a lot to do with what could be drawn or even talked about (for example Reed and Susan getting married was a scandal, since it meant there could and would be sex even if it's not shown in the comic).

I'd say the most important thing about the Golden and Silver Age was that they laid out the structures we have been building on since then. The art was simple, but realistic which was the point of those eras. We are just used to seeing things like they're now. It's good to appreciate the history as it is, but there's no need to like it as such if you don't want to. Still, I think those who get offended usually do so because they feel you don't give the old stuff a chance. That I understand. If you have valid arguments, you're doing well and even the most offended will hopefully understand.
