I'll just leave this here for folks that can't google. Circumcision has numerous benefits as well as risks, like any medical procedure. Incidentally, America isn't even the highest proportion of circumcised males, nor is circumcision a "trend."

Ib4 Wikipedia isn't a reliable source - scroll down and read the sources.

Also... yeah, don't think Snape is circumcised. The wizarding world doesn't seem to have health practices like the muggle world, after all.

Please, do tell me about the "numerous benefits". Something that truly makes me believe that mutilating little babies' genitals is necessary for their health.
