I like fic of all length, but I tend to skip over porn if it's less than about 5, 000 words. When it's like that, it's usually not enough to get me going :( but that's looking for fic for a very specific purpose.

That's funny - I tend to skip over the porn if it's much more than 5,000 words. If I have to work too hard (ie, read too much) to find the porn, it's not worth it.

But yeah, that's looking for fic for a very specific purpose, too. I read a lot of 50k+ fics with multiple graphic sex scenes, but I'm usually not reading them for that...purpose.

About the whole <7000 words thing? Your loss, OP. You're entitled to your preferences, but declaring that shorter fic doesn't count as fic just because it's not your thing is kind of a dick move.

Yeah, context is important for me in porn (I love porn with plot). Also graphicness. A sex scene that's less than 1000 words long can't really get deep and dirty. That can be fine if I'm more interested in the plot than the porn. But if I'm going for PWP, yeah, more's better. I once read a single elaborate sex scene that was 17,000 words long, including lots of hardware, toys and different positions. Holy cow, that was a pornocopia.
