I've thought about that too. I tend to get all excited over a new fandom every year or so, and I have an flist that has people from all different fandoms, and while I try to stress an attitude of 'you can always take me off your reading list for any reason, even if we just don't like the same things anymore!', I still feel bad when I switch it up and start posting about something I know no one else cares about.

I mean, I think it's perfectly valid if you want to start a new LJ for each new fandom. Otherwise I think you just have to decide to do whatever you do on your own LJ and if people don't want to see it, well, it's up to them to take care of themselves and their own viewing habits.
