I used to be this way, but actually, I think letting myself get a bit more emotionally invested in a fandom and its fans helped me. Having people to talk to often about the fandom kept me interested and, even though some people have moved out of the fandom in question, we still feel close. Sure, we try to get one another into our new fandoms. Sometimes we're successful and sometimes we're not, but even if we move on, that's okay, because we're not moving on from one another. It's the first time (in fandom, online, not irl) I've been close to people for years without ever feeling estranged.

tl;dr - talk to your fandom friends about this and I'm sure you'll find they still like you, even if you change fandoms.
