Oh man, it's like you're describing me. Though I do come back to it depending on what triggers my interest and/or nostalgia. Like I was super into comics and then I got suckered back into anime, then played games for a while, and now I'm pretty much in fandom limbo until the next update of something drags me in.

I had a handful of friends who were VERY dedicated to their fandom of choice. It made talking to them difficult when they were into something I wasn't because I'm too passive aggressive to tell them to shut the fuck up. :(
