Hmmm. I guess, it's all a matter of preference between m/m and f/m. Not that there's anything wrong with having a preference for either or both, but that's probably why the relationship between these two would be more interesting for you if Ciel was female? Or at least that's what I can gather from your response to the other anon, otherwise, I can't really see how the dynamic between them would be that much more interesting? But, I'm curious about your perspective, OP. Why would it be more interesting for you?

Well, I'm actually fine with both m/m and m/f interactions!

As for why I would prefer it? Good question and I had to think this for a while. I guess it would be interesting to see how Ciel (as female) deals with things like education and gender roles. Like how would "she" deal with having to hide her (red) eye from public, while trying not to raise suspicion. And having to deal with people going "Little girl wanting to solve mysteries? Haw haw go play with your dolls, deary" kind of thing.

And I guess the whole master/servant relationship. Watching or reading about a little girl making a pact with the devil would pick my interest. I can see Sebastian acting a bit differently with Ciel (I just imagine it as to how he acts with Lizzie) but still keeping that snarky/dark attitude around her, like how he does with boy!Ciel.

I hope my explanation makes sense!

Especially in the era Kuroshitsuji takes place in. Gender roles play a huge part. I'm a bit interested in whether or not you would want to read girl!Ciel with boy!Lizzie. Personally, I'd want Lizzie to remain a girl.

I would love to see both, tbh. Just to see how their relationship was handled either way. Would Lizzie have a different person to be engaged to? If it was boy!Lizzie, would he approve of his fiancee going around solving mysteries while her buttler goes around kicking demons butt? I adore Lizzie either way, and would find both interactions equally fascinating.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. I mean, personally, I would also like to see a leading female protagonist controlling a demon servant. I really love the idea of the power dynamic there. And it would definitely be interesting to see how girl!Ciel would handle gender roles and all that mess. But it's not something I want to see them try simply because I know they would butcher it. The mangaka, even if she didn't want to, but for the sake of pandering to an audience, would leave a general feel of "she's still just a girl" throughout the work. Look at Lizzie. She's this awesome strong swordsman but she's reduced to being overly concerned with being "cute" and acting like a spoiled brat. Makes me sad!face.

The only thing though is that I wouldn't want Sebastian to treat girl!Ciel any differently than he does boy!Ciel.

OH! I just thought of something! What if it were a set of twins? A girl and a boy and they both made a pact with Sebastian. That would be really interesting. Argh~ Now it's gonna be stuck in my head. Haha.
