This. My headcanon is that Arya mysteriously returns, joins up with Nymeria's giant wolf pack and proceeds to take revenge on all those who wronged House Stark, starting with the Freys and ending with the Boltons.

Then Sansa can come home, which is all she ever wanted. Poor girl. I never particularly liked Sansa until I started feeling awful for her and her situation. She doesn't need a happy ending (I think she's grown past that), she just needs to be home, with her pack. *sniff*

I find Sansa so much more likeable in the show than in the books. I can't put my finge ron why but there are a lot of aspects of her personality that add to it.

I really didn't feel a whole lot of pity or hope for her until the most recent book. I hope she does end up with power, though not necessarily in the way that a lot of people are expecting.

Possibly because you don't really see into her head. In the book, she continues to think in terms of fairy tales and sweeping romances. That's generally not present in the series.

Also, Joffrey has that one scene where he convinces her he won't be a dick. So she actually has a reason to try and trust him again, rather than just completely ignoring that he tried to kill her sister.

Yes, this is definitely part of it. I think you see the darker side of it more easily on the show and I think that's what I personally need in order to see that she's grown up and learned from what's going on around her.

While I don't necesarrily want to see her queen I hope she lands some kind of role in the nobility where she has power.

I wasn't very happy with Sansa in the first book but her development calmed me down about her. I think most "haters" would love to see Sansa in a position of power or being competent because her lack of competence (and for me loyality to her family in the first half) is exactly why she bothers/ed us. If shebecomes a kickass schemer that stands with those she loves and against her toormentor I'm all for it.

That wish comes up a lot, I think? Personally, I rather expect that by the time she's a major, competent player in the game she'll have shred so many morals that wholly rooting for her will be kind of creepy.

When I first read the series I didn't give a fig about Sansa and disliked her (I didn't actively hate her like her Mother at that time, I now don't hate either) but in re-reading the books and watching the television series it made me realize just how much of a child Sansa was. For all they're harping on about how she needs to *get married* etc, and how young they all function and enter adulthood in this world and some of her actions that I dislike, I see as the repercussions of a child fumbling at being an adult and this makes me have much much more sympathy and like towards her as I see she's had to grow up very, very fucking fast and is in a situation that she's had to do the best she can at, including survive. So I totally agree with this secret, I hope she ends up getting some vengence for the bullshit she's had to put up with as well as get some power herself in the end.
