I know how you feel. I fuckin' LOVED Greer. He was excellent. A wonderful mix of serious and humourous with a difficult backstory and a level of depth to him that made me appreciate both the writing and him as a character. His minor breakdown in The Hunt was fantastic.

Though, in all fairness, SGU has a smallish fandom ANYWAY. It wasn't popular at all. Most older-series Stargate fans hated it. I came way too late for the fandom at its peak, but when I looked back at the fanworks, it did disappoint me that Eli, Young, Rush, Scott and, to a lesser extent, Telford, TJ and Chloe seemed to get all the love.

Other great characters... Park, Greer, James, Varro, Volker, Brody and even Wray... they didn't get half as much. Sucks.

I imagine that the lack of things written for Greer is probably due to his complexity. I don't imagine that he's easy to work into fanworks. I'd hope so, anyway.

BRODY!!!!! Sorry, I loved him too. The still. And Volker and his awkward crushes...

It makes me sad that so many regular SG fans didn't take to it. I loved SG1, I had a great time with SGA, and SGU took on a new feel that was, yes, edgy, but I don't know...gritty. I love a little grit. I loved the story arcs. I loved...I loved the character depth and the growth.

I loved Greer because he wasn't some two-dimensional "black guy from the hood" (damn I sound white saying that) - he grew up with real issues, real problems, but he's got a heart of gold and he's smarter than people give him credit for. I loved it when Eli and him played off of each other about Ginn.

And now I've rambled enough. I just miss having Stargate. :( Now I'm a little sad.

Awww, it's okay to ramble. SGU is underappreciated (I'm surprised the frothing haters haven't crawled out of the woodwork for this secret like they usually do, actually!) and it's nice to see it get a little love occasionally. X3 It's my favourite of the three, so I'm massively biased about it, but meh. XD

I still haven't seen the whole series because RL commitments interfered with the airing time, but I really liked SGU, and I was so disappointed at the vitriol that was aimed at the show before it even aired. *sigh*
