Neither was the Horta.

But I have to guiltily admit that I see what the OP is getting at...

I do as well, however, considering the F/X the original series had to work with, I think they did a pretty good job.

Dude. I was watching the show the other day on my fancy TV and I was like, "Man, this looks UH-MAZING." The F/X are fabulous.
