can anybody recommend some good tv shows that are either running now or have within the last few years or so? preferably in the adventure and/or fantasy genre, but as long as it's not super serious drama-y, i'll take anything.

Wtf. I don't watch PAR, but Community is a genuinely funny show that a lot of really diverse people I know find entertaining. What is this comment even

Eureka (just started its 5th (and last) season, Mondays on SyFy) - Starts like this: A car accident leads U.S. Marshal Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) into the top-secret Pacific Northwest town of Eureka. For decades, the United States government has relocated the world's geniuses to Eureka, a town where innovation and chaos have lived hand in hand.

Fringe (just finishing its 4th season, Fridays on Fox) - FBI agent Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop are faced with a rapidly spreading unexplained phenomenon of the threatening kind. In an attempt to stop the spread, they enlist the assistance of Bishop's estranged father, the institutionalized scientist Dr. Walter Bishop. [This one you really have to watch from the beginning – it’s a little uneven the first few episodes, but then it finds its groove and it is awesome, seriously.]

Grimm (almost done with its first season, Fridays on NBC) - A supernatural crime drama involving a police detective (played by David Giuntoli) who can see the dual nature of creatures among us hiding in human form. As the descendant of the Grimms, he can see their inner natures. He also has the responsibility of being judge, jury, and sometimes executioner for crimes among these "others" for which there are no human laws that apply.

Warehouse 13 (on SyFy, will start airing season 4 later this year) - Secret Service agents Pete Lattimer and Myka Bering are appointed to a secret storage facility housing unusual artifacts in South Dakota after saving the life of the President. The agents are responsible for tracking down missing objects from all areas of the country, as well as monitoring for supernatural activity that might hint at the presence of a new object that they must acquire.

Once Upon a Time (almost done with its first season, Sundays on ABC) - Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, writers of Lost, have created a modern take on fairy tales with a female lead character, Emma swan, who has moved to Maine. The show revolves around the adaptation of fairytale characters such as Snow White and Prince Charming who have been brought into the real world with no knowledge of their true identities, due to the Evil Queen, who cast an evil spell on the entire land.

I liked the first season of Merlin, but I really can’t recommend beyond that. Touch (very new show) on Thursdays on Fox is weirdly addictive and I’m not even really sure what genre it would fall into.
