#8 and #10 are just blatant shilling, why are they in the secrets pile it when they are both so blatantly product ads. Especially #8, which is a crude attempt at getting a viral campaign going.

I have such a pet peeve for when people write "ect" instead of "etc". It's so stupid, but it drives me up a wall.

Ignoring that, I've discovered amazing bands through fandom. Generally, for me, it's through fanvids. But fandom has seriously expanded my music library. I first got into Tegan & Sara due to an awesome vid, for one example. And the first time I heard Tracy Chapman was in a fanvid. No shame!

Dude, this secret is adorable. I shipped Audrey and Gregory the moment I saw the hand-eating statue scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6af1dAc9rXo) from Roman Holiday. Audrey and Gregory were two adorable, classy people.

You run into walls? Why?
Maybe I'm just biased from years of playing games without much of a problem, but I really can't see why running into things is an issue outside of shitty and / or awkward controls (like Heavy Rain) or glitching.

Hell, you figure seeing more of the space around you would make you better at dodging walls / door frames / whatever.

It's really common for people to never be happy with their own writing, regardless of the quality. You hating it doesn't mean it's bad.

If it embarrasses you to look back and see these things, then just steer clear of your old writing? Or just look at the comments you get- if people remember your fic positively, then doesn't that count for something? Nobody is perfect, and people tend to be way more critical of their own stuff than other people's stuff, so maybe just recognize that you are seeing it through that lens.

Those books were basically my fiance's childhood, and I read them last year while we were staying at his parents' house during his recovery from a surgical procedure (the specialist we went to was in their city, not ours). They might not have been the most unpredictable, but they were sweet, fun books, and Lady Polgara was fierce!

If anything, I'd almost say it paints war in a bad light, not glorifies it. I actually just finished watching the whole thing for the millionth time and I think it's pretty even-handed in terms of presenting what war is like (because, uh, yes, civilians do die and innocent people do die) but not vilifying the Marines themselves, even if some of them are assholes (looking at you, Encino Man and Captain America). As for racism/sexism/homophobia, yes, that language and that attitude exists in the show, because it exists in the real world. But IDK, it didn't seem like the filmmakers were saying it was right, or laughing about it. They were simply presenting it, if that makes sense.

TL;DR: I adore this show.

I thought they were interesting as bad-asses who were just as cutthroat as the boys, but other than that there was nothing to them (also not sure why the need for the blond to be draped all over Cato). I'm planning on reading the book eventually, would love to see that they're more fleshed out there.

Regarding the Sailor Moon secret, I've never read a single page of the manga and have seen maybe five episodes of the anime, but I still do a semi-regular look-around for fics about these pairings, especially Jadeite/Sailor Mars. I have no idea why they fascinate me so because I'm not actually a fan of this series.

That said, can anyone rec me anything? Since I'm not in the fandom, I suck at finding anything.
