I actually hate FPP because it's too intimate, too intense during combat game play. It also feels awkward and unnerving seeing in only one direction. I like platforming and moving around the environment with different speeds, precision and control of space. I need to see my character, so I prefer TPP. It's one of the things I enjoy about playing as someone else. There are these cool, attractive character designs that should be seen and appreciated from different camera angles. ;)
It also makes me feel more like I'm watching a movie, yet calling all the shots. Silly, I know.

I understand that gamers have preferences on this that are important to feel comfortable. (Though not all games are designed to be accommodating, if it interferes with the original creative vision.) Maybe more games will take the Fallout/Skyrim approach and let you choose. But I'd like it to be available via menu instead of toggling, that way I don't accidentally switch it.
I really want to play Mirror's Edge, but that would probably just end up disastrous for me.
