See, I agree with this- I would rather talk about things other than shipping, and that's how I feel about this on the internet. But in real life, what most people I know care about in movies is how cool and actiony they are, and... I don't really care about that either? Like, I like romance a lot in theory but I find the majority of it kind of bland and I hate how it's shoved down our throats, and I like action in moderation but lol sometimes I just fast forward through action scenes. I've never really related to the whole "girlfriend wants to see Kissy Romance III, and boyfriend wants to see Blow Shit Up IV, Return of the Revenge" because I'd most likely be like "screw both of those, I want to see a kids movie" because I'm an overgrown seven-year-old. That's not saying I don't like romance or action, or that I judge people who do because that's dumb and I'm in no place to judge anyone. I'm just saying that neither of those is what I primarily look for in a book/flick/show whatever.
Idk I'm sorry for word-vomiting all over this comment, but basically I agree with you while also agreeing with the OP
