I agree with the being incapable of connecting to other people part, but I have to disagree with the sacrificing things in your personal life part. I know firsthand that sometimes you do have to make sacrifices for your career/education. It all depends on what career you want/have and where your priorities are, though, obviously. There is nothing wrong with prioritizing your personal/romantic life, but I wish people would understand that there's nothing wrong with prioritizing your career, either, if that's the type of person you are. I'm studying for a career where it's pretty much a matter of doing super-well in your degree or there's no way in hell you're going to make it. So, yes, I prioritize that over everything, and yes, I have had to make sacrifices personal-life-wise (and otherwise). Just saying that not everyone's the same, and some people just frankly care more about their career than their personal life.
