Where did I say you couldn't enjoy a kiddie show? There's a difference between saying "I like x," and claiming "x is made for all ages." We were dealing with people claiming the later.

I listed examples of 'fun for all ages,' you know stuff you could recommend to anyone with a straight face. The King's Speech is a great example going the other way. It's rated R, but I'd happily recommend it to essentially anyone, same with Pan's Labyrinth, same with Pixar, same with Avatar. My Little Ponies? Nope, not recommending that to just anyone I meet on the street.

Nice job trying to make it out like I was targeting you for your tastes though. I really appreciate being made into a strawman. Just accept the fact that it is a kiddie show and that you like a kiddie show instead of trying to make it out like I'm policing your interests.

And where did I say that you said that? I wasn't attacking you. I don't even know where you got that. At no point did I address you personally in my reply. I was simply commenting on what you said, adding my two cents.

Anyway, (again, not attacking you personally) I don't buy the "fun for all ages" argument. Pixar's movies are for children just as much as My Little Pony is for children. MLP is not. (Personally, I don't find Avatar to fit into this category because it's targeted for a more tween/young teen demographic, yet is still clean enough to be enjoyed by younger audiences. And Carebears is for like toddlers. I digress.) It's not as if Wall-E was inherently more or less for children than MLP. And both, in my opinion, can be enjoyed by adults. Same goes for shows like Spongebob and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. The only difference I see between MLP and these other "great shows/movies that are geared for children but can be enjoyed by the whole family" is that MLP is of a girlier persuasion and has an all-female main cast. So when I see "fun for all ages," what I really see is "it's targeted for boys/both genders so it's okay for adults to like it."

Oops. Meant to say MLP is not like Carebears* See parentheses.
