I completely agree on the "Team" thing, because it has the implication that the person in the center of the triangle is a prize to be won instead of, you know, a person. And often the character I like the most isn't the one I want to end up with the main character. Also I'm a big nerd and my reasons for shipping things are usually overanalytical and silly and don't really boil down to "TEAM X FOR LIFE! HE'S SO MUCH SEXIER THAN Z!" and are more like "you can see in chapter three that the parallels between x and y are...." and such shit, because I have no life, although of course that's not an inherently better shipping method and people can ship things for whatever reasons they want and none are more shallow than another. The "team" thing just bothers me because it encourages fandom drama, and because of the whole prize thing.
