What I'm really asking is, why is your interpretation more valid? Many psychological disorders, as well as non-disordered personality quirks and lifestyles and choices, have overlapping characteristics and symptoms.

And yeah, you don't have to slot in sex just to be interesting. If you have no idea how to make a story that focuses on plot and character but have no sex then you're just a knockoff writer.
