I'm with you, OP. I really adored her friendship with Elena in the first season and I think she is gorgeous. I just wish she wasn't so bitter and angry all the time. I understand why she feels that way but at the same time I think I am too accustomed to seeing characters let these things go at some point and so having it drag on like this feels frustrating.

It really doesn't fit in TVD's world, where people kill people and connive and double-cross and eventually get over it/sleep with the person. Bonnie stays upset, which, yeah, I can understand, but it keeps her very one dimensional and keeps her from progressing.

I guess I'm just used to how they handle situations like that on Supernatural. People manipulate you and stab you in the back. They might even kill you. Best case scenario, Dean punches you in the face and hounds you until you start seeing things his way and then he moves on. Worse case scenario, you get killed. Then they move on.

I guess my point is that Bonnie really needs to realize that in the kind of life she leads people will die and people will stab her in the back. It's just the nature of the very literal beast. It's not right and it sucks but it's just how it goes. I say if she's not going to nut up and get even then she should shut up and stop with the pissy bitter act already. It's getting really old.

LOL that's completely true about SPN. And it's really my only other CW show to compare it to.

TBH I really don't like any of the witches and how they act...the only one I ever liked was her grandmother, and she had to die so Bonnie could learn more on her own. But, yes. I think Bonnie could use a lesson in life and how it's never fair to anyone(especially people on TV shows).

Yes! I loved Jasmine Guy in Dead Like Me and I loved her in TVD! I was very sad to see her go. The other witches are so catty, and not in the good way. And hey, even Caroline knows how to apply TV show principles to "real life"!

She's awesome, and I too was sad to see her go. You hit it exactly on the head why I've hated every other witch they bring in. It's like a job requirement, apparently. IDK. You'd think servants of nature would be more chill, but apparently not.
The only reason I grew to like Caroline is because she grew out of that shallow, catty characterization and grew a two-dimensional personality.

Oh I hated Caroline at first. Like seriously, every time she was on screen I wanted to claw her face off. Once she started to mature I really began to like her and now she's a total badass yet still manages to be a sweetheart and idk I love her. Of course I love Kathrine too so I'm not sure what that says about my taste in female characters! But yeah, every witch besides Bonnie's grandmother is all,

Exactly my experience, too. And I like Kathrine plenty! I like all the girls(for the most part...I love to hate Rebekah), except the witches. *shrugs*

Yeah, I'm not particularly fond of Rebekah. Though really the only one in their family I like is Elijah (actually he's my favorite character of the series. Heh.. <3)

Grandma was indeed awesome- although I spent the first few episodes she was on the screen freaking out because I remembered her from an old Cosby Show spin off. (Combing those two would indeed be the crackiest of fic, but would make JG's bratty charater in A DIfferent World that much more interesting lol.)
