Nah, her parents sold her to someone. Has to be, with the convenient public alibi, and the leaving of the place open so the buyer could walk in and collect. Kid was on a fishing boat to somewhere before the alarm was even raised. No way that pair could have done the real work that hiding even a small corpse takes. They are yuppies, not used to getting their hands dirty.

Why on earth would they sell her? It's traceable, it's complicated. For a child that age, if you really want to get rid of it, you'd be much better of having her have an "accident" and drown in the pool.
