I thought of doing that, but I'd feel guilty. And I think it's silly. If you're that bent on writing a fic, why do you need to fill a prompt anyway? Couldn't you just post it?

Not OP, but more exposure/gauging reaction to the prompts. You get way more feedback on actual ideas when you're anon and don't have whatever feelings might be associated with your username coming into play. People don't say it's a good idea for brownie points with anons.

Aside from what anon said, I personally find it's a easier to motivate myself to write when there's some sort of clear objective. Writing for prompts is a lot easier than just writing a fic, so writing my own prompts can make sense.
