BOOB OWNERS OF F!S

Last week an X-ray showed of a cyst and something else (possibly calcification) in one of my tatas. Apparently all sins point to it being benign but I'm freaking out a bit.

According to the doc, I should just have a second X-ray in 6 months.

But that feels...Long to me?

Should I get a second opinion? Or am I over-reacting. (I have no family history of breast cancer)

If you're already getting a second x-ray done why are you worrying
Nothing is going to happen in six months, chill out. Worrying about it excessively will just stress you out and cause different health problems.

ETA: I get cysts in the area between my boobs all the time. They're sebaceous cysts -- my dad had the same thing. What you have could be something like that, not every bump on your body is cancer

It's not the fatty/sebaceous kind. It's in the boob, and you can only see it on an echo/X-ray I can't actually visually see it.. I'm just worried, what if they're wrong and it's not a cyst, but something worse?

Well, look at it this way. You're already doing the right thing by going to the doctor, getting x-rays, etc. All you can do is wait for the results and consult your doctor after that. Worrying is only going to make it worse. I'm dealing with some major anxiety right now and let me tell you -- it's a surefire way to make yourself sick, or at least feel sick.

Like someone else said, concentrate on your exams and school right now.

Take a breath, don't worry. A lot can happen in 6 months, but if a lot hasn't already been happening, then you probably have nothing to worry about.

Personally, I'd try to book the second appointment ASAP. Not only for peace of mind, but just in case there is something wrong. My sister had a cyst in her left breast, but the doctor didn't want to risk waiting and sent her to a specialist within a week. If you don't feel comfortable waiting 6 months, do something about it. It's your body after all. And you've only got one.

I agree. Nothing wrong with getting a second opinion. If that second doc agrees with your first one on treatment, then I'd go with what they both say.

Absolutely this.

And on the flip side, a relative of mine had a cyst removed out of her doc's concern, but it turned out to be benign. On the one hand, she feels she did right in taking the safer route, but on the other, she feels like she was rushed by the doctor into it on retrospect (in her case, it was also painful healing, and it was, to her, a noticeable amount that was removed).

Take a good breath and go get a second opinion.
