Not that I disagree, but the internet equivalent of being yelled at or having people write mean things about you can be very demoralizing, even if it isn't happening to you directly. This is why I try not to read youtube comments after a vid even though normally I enjoy reading feedback. They are often so offensive and/or missing the point that they can kill the happy buzz I get after watching something I liked.

Me too, though sometimes I read the top-rated comments because those don't typically have the same problem.
