Tell that to trolls who have tracked down people who have switched accounts multiple times, sometimes even tracking down real phone numbers, addresses, and schools. Bullying online is still bullying.

Not that I disagree, but the internet equivalent of being yelled at or having people write mean things about you can be very demoralizing, even if it isn't happening to you directly. This is why I try not to read youtube comments after a vid even though normally I enjoy reading feedback. They are often so offensive and/or missing the point that they can kill the happy buzz I get after watching something I liked.

This has happened and exactly what I am talking about. It started with ship wars and fandom, got tracked to my personal facebook and people started picking on me there due about personal non fandom stuff all because of ship wars. I've gone to different fandoms only to be attacked there and attacked on other sites. People have missed what I was trying to say in the secret entirely. Cyberbullying is JUST as nasty as irl. I've broke down and felt like crying multiple times. It's taken a toll on my self esteem and doesn't help my already existing mental illness that I am being treated for. The bullys only intensify the feeling of being hated by everyone, that I won't be missed and suicidal thoughts. I feel like I can't go anywhere online without running to at least one of them.

But who cares? It's just the internet right?

Sorry, but I get the feeling there's way more here than we're being told. People generally don't hold vendettas like that unless you did something on MsScribe levels of fucked up. So I'd be interested to hear the other half of the story.

I've had your dumbasses go to old fandom secrects from weeks ago about unrelated shit just to target me and no one else. I've had you dumbasses comment to me about the drama in freaking Sherlock Holmes posts and other posts unrelated to anything Trek just to target me. Hell, you've come to my LJ harassing me because I changed my journal default icon to Spock/Uhura which reflected in all my posts ever made like my fic in the KS comm. No one from the kirk/mccoy, spock/mccoy or any other Trek comms gave a fuck except the hardcore KSers. Every time there is a Spock/Uhura Kirk/Spock secret, I'm automatically assumed that I made it almost every fucking time as if I'm the only damned fan, hater or whatever (the ks su therory one). I'm fanstalked and the shit is ridiculous. Don't you have anything better to do? Oh because it's fun? You lemmings are going off of second hand accounts from bigmamag, canededbonbon and so on not caring what the real story is or was. Some of you have even ganged up on people on various Trek sites just over stupid fucking ships that you're crazy about.

People like Spock/Uhura, get over it. What you keep forgetting is that I also ship Kirk/Spock. It doesn't mean we're against gay rights, are homophobes and all the other shit you throw out.

All these comments are people not giving a fuck because it's online. No matter where bullying happens, the psychological effects are the same and many are missing that. The same depression happens. The same suicidal thoughts happen. The same anxiety happens of having to hide behind new accounts, the worry of being found out and having to reinvent yourself for the millionth time. Yes, log off, go away but what happens when it's waiting for you every time you log back on? That drama shit happened October ish and people still won't give it a break.

Yes, not all KS and slashers are like the many dumbasses I've been running into and I know it. I'm friends with some that don't really give a fuck and that's cool. I love them. Thank you to the ones that don't care. Anon because I don't want to track the replies.

what I find funny is that someone here is obviously stalking you cos everytime a ST secret is posted this person jump in and says that it's you and YET this person is hiding behind the anonymous paper bag! ha! I'm really sorry that happened to you. And I'm sorry that so many people are adamant this doesn't happen so you're not believed and constantly questioned about your bullying. IRL bullying even still gets met with "well you must have done something to deserve it" but at least that's starting to be unacceptable.
I think folks thought you were trying to say "somebody disagreed with me about my ship, that's bullying" but to me it was clear that it's never been about the ship, it's about interpersonal interaction online that happens to be on the subject of shipping. In pretty much any form of group social interaction people can be verbally mistreated and ostracized, even if it's "just on the internet." Bullies don't like people who disagree with their opinions, even on silly things like shipping.
Feel free to PM me if you need to talk to somebody, though sorry I'm not much of a Trek fan (I've seen some of TOS and a handful of movies, including the new one).

I'm curious, but after the first incident and trying to move on, did you change your handle and try to separate yourself from that bullied name? Did you stop talking about whatever the big deal was, drop the communities totally, and just start fresh? Or did you continue on with the same name and continue with the same exact arguments etc? Because not to be all victim blaming, but if you haven't made an effort to separate yourself and take action, honestly at some point you've got to realize some of it might be on you.

crazy people do exist and some people take fandom way too seriously. They're like.. if you don't ship their couples they get not only defensive but make it seems that you offended their religion or something like that.
I was online stalked once by this crazy guy that followed me everywhere and harrassed me in every site where i post (just because i like a ship!) people can be so crazy that they can actually attempt to hacker your computer and steal personal data. How many people got their facebook account hacked?

Only recently there a wank was started by someone that went on and bullied people calling them names just because they say that they didn't like her couple.
now imagine having to constantly deal with it. Some fandoms are crazy.
