7. Well, I have seen Japanese fanart, although nothing hardcore.

9. Write obscure pairings -- the fewer fans something has, the more they'll love the authors who do write it. :D

19. I almost cracked up just looking at that secret.

25. I was under the impression a lot of people didn't (considering there's a sizable amount of Itsuki/Kyon love out there). As for me, I'm pretty neutral.

#24: a lot of people (a lot of them Haruhi/Kyon shippers) write off Itsuki/Kyon as crack though, which is really annoying, though I dont really ship it.

9- then they are loving the authors in silence because I am not hearing about it. doesn't really motivate me to keep writing for it, that's for sure.

It's possible. Some people are too shy to comment, or don't think they have anything good to say. Or, if it's really obscure, won't bother searching after the first time because they find nothing (ergo, less exposure).

I dunno, I just hate to think that fanfic authors feel forced to write what's popular instead of what they really like. The reality you wrote about in your secret really sucks.
