9 - Also, I find this very sad. I wish feedback wasn't so important to most people. Sure, it's nice to have people commenting on your fics. But if it's not your best writing and you're not enjoying the subject matter, then what's the point? Write what you love and write something you can be proud of. If you've done that, you should be able to feel good about your work no matter how many people notice it.

13. I liked a guy at my old high school because he looked exactly like Tasuki from Fushigi Yuugi. I even tried to get to know him first but he acted like an asshole and made me into a joke.

But now I have a wonderful boyfriend that's geeky and looks mostly like Hakkai from Saiyuki. I see nothing wrong with a guy that looks like a character, just as long as he's not an asshole. Hell, you can get most people to look like someone.

The fandom's not bad--it's just small, and broken up into little groups. There are a fair number of Mary Sues, but those are pretty easy to sift through. But we have a fairly large number of GOOD authors, too, given the size of the fandom.

the_precursors and jak_fanfics are the two main communities, but neither of them are very active right now. The fandom's hibernating for the summer or something.

9- op, here. It is very disheartening. I have small/rare pairings I love and I can count on one hand others who do. I'd even be happy if they would comment on those, it would keep me inspired to continue writing for them. They don't and those fics sit with no comments at all while my huge fanbased pairing fics get scads of comments.

I've been told I'm an excellent writer (not by the huge fanbased pairing set but by individuals whose judgment I trust not to be blinded by who I write) so it's hard to believe that I may not get comments because I suck as a writer.
