It's believability and ICness that matter, not the gender of the partners.
10: *hugs* Also, you could buy your own laptop and keep your stuff hidden from him. . . if you can afford it. . .
18: I somewhat agree. While I'm sure there are some asexual people, and while getting laid =/= being a better person or a true man/woman (as in there's nothing wrong with waiting if you are the type who wants more of a connection than one-night stands and/or can't find someone you want right now and/or aren't sure of who and what you are. I think people would be better off waiting than, say, throwing themselves into relationship after relationship that each ends in massive drama or devoting themselves totally to one person that, 10 years from now, they find out they absolutely hate once the sex goes bad). . .
I do think a lot of "asexuals" do fall into the categories of repressed orientation (e.g. someone is gay or lesbian or transgender and isn't capable of sexual attraction to the opposite sex and/or of having sex as a woman/man), fetishes only being able to get them off (e.g. people don't work for you, only being whipped does), or of having psychological issues rather than a legitimate asexual orientation.
Also, I'd say that freaking out at the thought of fictional people having sex to the point of where you don't merely not read pr0n but you angrily lash out at the thought of your favorite character having sex is somewhat of an indicator not of asexuality as your orientation, but of your having other psychological issues with sex, such as a bias toward thinking it "dirty" or "sick," which isn't asexuality as much as it is repression or internalized self-hate.
23: I'm just like you (except that I'm majoring communications and going to likely take Japanese over the summer next year), and I personally do identify as an otaku. I don't think there's anything bad about it (as in even in the negative Japanese sense of the word, an actual culture has began to form and many are capable of some social interaction even if it's the kind laughed at by "normal" society, but then, IMO, "normal" society in both the US and Japan has its jerks and asshats and creepy weirdos, and they're usually even more rock-stupid than the fanboys and fangirls.) Also, a lot of people confuse "otaku" with "hikikomori," and a lot of the fans you hate on both sides of the ocean would traditionally fall more into "hikikomori" in Japan (e.g. the no-life-at-all people who live in their rooms and don't know how to interact at all).
Point being? I'm not mad at you at all, but I'm sick of the "weeaboo" hate and the "OMG people might see me as an otaku." So what if they do? You're personally bringing up the originally low-set bar for us, and that you're actually interested in more of the culture than just anime and manga and that you're intelligent makes you cool. No matter what people call you or you call yourself.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-15 11:23 am (UTC)(link)and then when you attempted to look oh-so-superior, you simply made yourself look even more idiotic than your tl;dr on a tangent that had nothing to do with the secret, that makes the other person who fails to see how you pwn and win at anything, a troll?
so in deleting one of your own comments, you clicked the delete thread by accident? or were you, true to your nature on any forum where people might not like being talked down to because YOU don't know when to STFU, you just delete any and all evidence that might make YOU look worse than someone who called you on your shit?
you and shadsie...two peas in a pod.
and yes. NOW, I'm trolling you because you truly are the pathetic one here. feel free to delete this as well. I have screencaps.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-15 11:38 am (UTC)(link)I doubt the mods deleted them because they only froze the conversation on the first page. it's usually bad form to delete comments. you should know that by now. and they would have said something in the deleting, I'm fairly sure.
something tells me, sweetheart, you clicked that little box that says to delete the thread, you did it deliberately (as you are known to do) and are now trying to play dumb. no, you deleted them because you attempted to pwn this little troll and when it didn't work, you simply erased the evidence. ::golf clap::
since I'm now doing nothing more than ripping your butterfly wings off, I'm going to go grocery shopping and find something better to do than to poke at someone like you who makes it far too easy to do so. there's no more challenge here.

Longer than you, probably. You can't delete anything but your own posts in someone else's comm. Oopsie! Looks like I got to it, sweetheart. ::rolls eyes:: Go troll elsewhere. Bad kitty.
