Pretty sure the creators actually said that Dash being a tomboy has nothing to do with her sexual orientation, and she could go either way?
I'd rather not be straight because she and Pinkie would be adorbs together, but shipping's shipping and I don't see why it's such a big deal to argue her canon orientation instead of just shipping what you like.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-04 09:37 am (UTC)(link)While I wouldn't have a problem exactly with her being gay, (which I'm pretty sure they would never actually show), some people's attitude towards her makes me annoyed. I've seen many people be all- LOL SHE'S ALL SPORTY AND MANLY AND A TOMBOY SHE MUST BE A LESBIAN LOL- which is based entirely on stereotypes and as I think Lauren Faust said, is offensive to both tomboys and lesbians. My personal interpretation of her is that she is not a lesbian. I don't even particularly ship her with anypony else or anything, it just annoys me that RD HAS to be the lesbian because of her personality when surely any of the other ponies except perhaps Rarity could equally be a lesbian, or whatever. It would annoy me if she were, to an extent as it would feel like blatant stereotyping, I also kind of identify with her as I was a tomboy when I was younger and was a little similar to RD lol.
On the subject of rule 34 with ponies, OH GOD NO why would you do that? Don't subject the poor innocent ponies to that kind of stuff! It creeps me right the fuck out some people would draw porn of them and get off to it. Dude, these are cartoon ponies! I watch the show because it's adorable, innocent fun! :/
