I find it incredibly ironic that just as you're posting your pics, I see a huge ass ugly spider by the light switch next to the door. I am now to scared to go anywhere near the door. It's too big to kill, too late to get the vacuum cleaner out (if I somehow made it through the door, that is) and just the thought of going anywhere near it freaks me out. Well, guess I have all the time of world to read f!s.

Oh fucking god the thing just moved. If it comes anywhere near me I might have to scream, and damn waking up the whole house.

I have now. :) Thanks for the tip. I now have a cup, a bucket, and a couple of books to weigh down said bucket ready to trap it under. Problem is, between posting my previous comment and now the spider crawled behind the shelf next to the computer (paranoia about the spider coming up somewhere around the computer/me? CHECK) so I can't do anything (other than panic, obviously), but if it turns up again I'll trap it so that my parents can remove it in the morning.

Really? That's kind of cute, actually, if you don't mind me saying so. I think I gathered from some of your comments that you're not a huge fan of spiders, but I wouldn't have thought that you're terrified of them as well.

I hope you can find it soon. :) Maybe it will crawl out onto a piece of paper, and you can put the cup over it, and take it outside/take it somewhere else and kill it. I really don't mean to creep you out terribly, but I wouldn't suggest just trapping it. I've found (personal experience only) that it doesn't actually work. >_>;

No, I'm completely and utterly terrified of them. Actually, part of the reason why I'm posting the spiders pics is to help work myself past being so scared of them, you know? Though, I'm still not very good with RL spiders yet.... I'm starting to do good with pics, but RL spiders? Nope. I can't even get close enough to kill them... ^^;

Have you considered getting a bug catcher? I have this one (http://www.amazon.com/Insect-Lore-07170-Bug-Grabber/dp/B004YRGK22/ref=sr_1_5?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1336105846&sr=1-5) at home, and it works really well! You just flip a small switch to open up the clear compartment, position it over the spider, and flip the switch again to trap the little guy inside. Before you release it, you can watch it inside the compartment -- maybe that could help you get used to spiders?
