Well, there's nothing wrong with a guy being into dominated, and I'm not sure why you'd associate all the geekery to it, but hey, at least you caught yourself. Although considering that each picture is of two women, I would have thought the OP's gender was pretty obvious.

OP, liking kink really isn't that rare and I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of other women, gay or straight, that are into it.

There's also some pretty creepy fatphobia in that first reaction. I mean, I get the kind of stereotype OP had in mind, but the reaction also reads as "Fat people are gross and don't deserve sex with thin people," too.

Well, no one "deserves" sex with anyone - it's not a shiny prize you get for being whatever. It's just a thing that some people like to do together, fat, thin, male, female, kinky, vanilla, etc. So if fat isn't your thing, whatever, but giving someone else shit for thinking fat people are sexy, or assuming that fat people aren't attractive to anyone is pretty dumb, IMO.

Oh, I totally agree that no one deserves sex with anyone for being whatever -- that may have been a bad way to say it. I just felt the original comment had this tone of "You have to be thin to even begin to qualify as desirable," and that's pretty creepy and fatphobic.

"I'm not attracted to fat people" would be different, because if people aren't attracted to something, that doesn't necessarily mean anything. But I think I'd still be leery of that, too, because although I don't think we know what shapes any given preference, I do think that there are some prevailing social messages that fat = undesirable, and that "I'm not attracted to fat people" is pretty universalizing. None of them? No matter what? Seriously?

(I feel the same when I hear white folks I know say they're "just not into" Black people -- yeah, it's conceivable that someone's Just Not Attracted To Non-European Noses, sure, but it's also quite possible that they wouldn't be so repulsed if they didn't live in a society that associated white features with beauty.)

I think it's most likely, though, that anon wasn't specifying her preferences up there so much as citing a particular stereotype of a sexist guy who doesn't get out much (and that's where the "fat" comes from -- the idea of lack of activity.) That's less likely to be about plain old fatphobia -- it's more about citing a stereotype. But I thought it might be worthwhile to mention that that stereotype's got something a little screwed up in it, too. (Not only the "fat = repulsive" thing, but also the assumption that people are fat due to not getting out much, and that people who don't get out much are fat -- some are, sure, because being sedentary's part of it for a lot of people, but there are skinny slovenly repulsive layabouts, too.)

*nod* I see it most when there's some guy who actually likes girls with more curve on them, but doesn't want people to know he's into "fatties" and his dudebro friends who will talk shit about it as well.

And I got what you meant about "deserving" - sort of like, they think that fat people deserve to live in celibacy in penance for their sin of being fat.
