I've liked unpopular pairings, and while it made me more likely to overlook faults in a good story, it didn't make me pretend to like utter crap. If your friends are doing more than leaving comments like "This was good, please continue" and actually talking to you, they're probably being genuine. I doubt you're perfect, but it seems like they are legitimately enjoying what you write.

If you're worried about your writing skills, you still shouldn't just quit. See if any of these people would be willing to beta for you. Look up writing advice and see what you need to work on. Do that thing where instead of posting it right away, you sit on it for a few days and then revise. I'm guessing you're not a terrible writer, but if you can channel your insecurity into a desire to improve, you'll end up even better.
