I can't help but ship Brienne/Jaime.

I really think they could have a shot at something approaching the respect and depth of feeling that Ned/Catelyn have.

I love the idea of the two of them together like no other ship in the series. The only other person I know who ships them is likeadeuce. (Her fic is awesome BTW) There's a mutual respect there that is deeply meaningful for both characters. And Brienne is pretty much kickass awesome.

I just can't get over what a fucking asswipe Jaime is to like any pairing involving him.

Indeed, he is the asswipe with the golden arm. Alas he never achieves Bond Invisible.

I do, however, think that he achieves a certain measure of self-awareness, a recognition of his Douchitude, sincere if not apologetic sounding of his failings.

I totally get it if that's not enough to wipe out the yuck.

There's also very little chance that Jaime is going to make it through the series. I'll be disappointed in GRRM if he lives.
