I kind of agree. I started watching it on Hulu, and maybe it's because I haven't watched it from the beginning but I just didn't find it funny.

The thing is I want to like it. I liked the characters, I thought it was well written and fun and the type of thing I should like. I just realized that after a few episodes I had barely laughed at all.

I'm a Community fan, and I totally know what you mean about it being a show you "should" like. I read in several places that if I liked Community (which I do) that I "should" like Arrested Development. I gave that one a try, and I just didn't like it. I hated the characters who I thought were horrible people, and didn't feel like investing the time to stick around with something that might get better.

So as others have said, maybe it's just not the show for the OP (or yourself). That's okay. I do wish the fandom was bigger, but I am enjoying it for what it is now.

As a fan, I think it is funny, but the humor is more often than not in wit, snark and quotable lines. I have had a few good belly laughs with the show, but I'm trying to remember what those specific moments were.

By the way, I think the picture in the secret was flipped, and not just because the writing on the window is backwards. Gillian's and Joel's faces look strange somehow... familiar but not quite right.

Wow, I'm almost the exact opposite because I love Arrested Development! I hear what you mean about the show, though; I started watching it a couple of times before I became a fan, and it's a show so laden with in-jokes and references that a lot of people find it funnier the second time watching it. They are terrible people though; it's a show where if you asked me who my favorite character was I could honestly not answer you.

I might attempt Community from the beginning, though; I found it entertaining and I liked the characters (especially Annie and Abed, from the episodes I saw), and like I said I think it's a really well done show.

Maybe this is an instance where hype is bad for a show because I know multiple people who say it's the most hilarious thing of all time and nothing can live up to that hype.

I've been told I'd like Arrested Development because I like Archer but it just does nothing for me. Same with It's Always Sunny.
