lol, we're exact opposites, anon. I could give two shits about the majority of the cases (well, on Criminal Minds. I've never watched any of the CSIs) but I want all the character focus and team interaction I can get. My favorite episodes are always those that focus on the characters. Honestly, I'd take the cases out completely...but then it wouldn't be a procedural.

But hey...different strokes :)

Yeah, this is pretty much me, also about Criminal Minds. I see a ton of complaining from people who want the focus to be on the cases and don't give a damn about the characters' personal lives, but that's my favorite part.

It's the same thing with me on CM. For the most part the cases are kind of ridiculous, so it's the characters that interest me the most, and I love them all. I still need the cases to be there, because I do enjoy them and seeing how the characters react to those sorts of situations is what makes me interested in this show, but the details usually don't interest me much. Some of the cases are really great, but usually they are kind of...OTT, I guess, not really that interesting beyond the emotional value.

Plus 1. I feel like CSI has less character stuff and that's why I've never gotten into it at all? But totally THIS. I do like the cases but characters>>>>cases.

Agreed 100%! I don't really watch a lot of the other procedural shows, though, so maybe it's just the magic of the team on CM that makes me feel that way.

This. I am a fan of mysteries and murder cases etc. But if it weren't for the stories about the main characters I think I would get bored after awhile. "oh another serial killer to catch who murdered his parents!" that would get so old.

I always thought they balanced the case/personal stuff really well on Criminal Minds.
